Godrulz, Wow.. My "goodness is like filthy rags". I can't say that your arrogance moves me to believe a thing you have to say. Doesn't sound Christ like to me. Also you know one, maybe a few statements from me on this forum. You don't know if I'm lazy, apathetic or ignorant. In fact, I stated in my post that I was exploring some new ideas. I didn't even say if I believed in them. God gave me free will and he knows my heart. I was locked in a box of JW BS from age 2- 23 I WILL explore!! I can read whatever I wish and my motives are good and my own. If you believe in Gods Wrath I'd be wary of your judgemental arrogant attitude.

Buried my father today
by littlerockguy ini mostly post fluff and music posts on this thread more often now but just thought i would let some people here who still know me about what has been goin on with me recently.
my dad about a 7 month battle with lung cancer which metastasized to the bones and he died early wed morning.
my dad was a fascinating man, complex, sometimes open and sometimes a very aloof and detached person.

One of the things my mother says to me when she chooses to associate with me... is that there's no where else to go. She thinks i'm miserable and lost "out here". I'm not. I feel content not knowing. I'm still curious and enjoy very much reading about other ideas. I'm currently exploring some new age dream ideas etc. but just for fun. I don't feel pressured to find any answers. I guess I believe that if there is a God he is LOVE and he will know that I am just trying to be good. I'm cool with that

My Ex's sister used to go out to all the NY clubs/VIP rooms etc and stay with her boyfriend overnight. She used to drive me to work as we worked together and she'd play that song "Move BITCH! get out tha WAY!" and drive all pissy cause we were always late. (AHH good times. So hilarious) On Sunday she played the kingdom melodies all the way to the Hall. Very confusing.

by lalaa inmy co-worker is a vegan and jw constantly talks about how healthy she is...blah, blah, blah....all day long and she's getting on my last nerve.
she's always posting how meat is murder on facebook and how all meat eaters are sooo uneducated.
funny since she dropped out of home schooling and never recieved her ged.

You admitted that the attitude about the subject was the annoying part. Not so much the dietary choice. Maybe try being empathetic and calmly think about what the motives are before reacting. Many people use diet to control something in their lives. Most of her life is being controlled by a cult so having something so "different" from the herd might make her feel special and extra "good". Like a real individual. Maybe trying to understand this will help with your ultimate goal of not being so annoyed by it. Make it easier to brush it off so to speak.
I went Vegan once for a month before I was dying for some goat cheese :) yum. I remained vegetarian for about 10 months after that. I'll admit that I was having a rough time in my personal life (my husband was constantly threatening suicide and threatening me that I better not tell anyone). I became totally annoying and preachy about my reasons for doing it. It was just something other than the painful events in my life to focus on.
Also, The Borg is really hard on people to be "perfect". It can make some push themselves to obscenely high standards for themselves and those around them. I relate to this too. If you think God is going to Kill you for not attending all the meetings, notstudying properly, not putting in enough hours in service or not serving where the need is greater if you have the ability, or for going to a 4 year college etc etc etc, why wouldnt he kill you for not taking the environment into consideration? (it take a lot of fossil fuels to raise meat). He did say he would put to ruin those ruining the earth didnt he? get my drift? Feel sorry for her. She's probably dying inside trying to be perfect.
Though I still try to make healthy earth conscious choices at the market, I have become much more balanced in general since those traumatic times have cooled.
I hope this might give you a new perspective.

by Chariklo ini am new to this site, just finding my way around.. i've been studying with jw's for about 15 months.
i'm an unbaptised publisher, and until recently never missed a meeting, have been out "on the service" quite a lot.
i've been having difficulties with one of the jw's studying with me and something happened which was just unacceptable.

Just a couple little tidbits from me.
You mentioned the good friends you made. When I was disfellowshipped my best friend wrote me a letter explaining that she would have to think of me as a dead person for now. I was so brainwashed that I accepted this. I was the "bad" one for being disfellowshipped so I deserved it right?! nevermind the fact that the brother I was dating was forcing me to do things with him that I didn't want to do (leading to my disfellowshipment). they only love you conditionally, whereas my worldy friends i had made in school forgave me for telling them they were bad association and not talking to them for ages.
Also you mentioned that some of their info seemed to be bibically true... something like that. One of the kickers for me was the verse they use to "explain" the whole 144k thing. If you read Rev.7 in it's entirety iit's talking about 2 classes of people, but not a heavenly and earthly in the sense that the earthly will inhabit the earth. It talks about a heavenly class and a class that will perish. It doesn't back up their claim at all. I'm not sure if I have the scripture right. Look in the back of the bible in that questiion section under the 144,000, then read the verse and all the ones around it.
